WHAT IS THE GOAL OF THE PROJECT?
The aim of the project is to develop the tools and methods supporting planning and development of career, for:
- High Schools students, Vocational Schools students, higher education students consulting with career offices at Universities.
- employees, that would like to develop their potential
- employees of labour market institutions and HR departments
The issues raised in the project concern the problem of high sensitivity and related to it, risk factors and protective factors.
WHAT IS THE PROJECT ABOUT?
High sensitivity is the temperamental trait, that is characteristic for 20% of society. Researches show that highly sensitive people process the information and stimuli from the surrounding more intensely and deeper than others. Such people are more sensitive, both for positive and negative experiences.
Researches and analysis conducted show that highly sensitive people are useful but usually underappreciated employees. Their sensitivity to the details, depth of processing, emotionality and empathy make them more engaged, devoted and extraordinarily creative. The other side of the coin is the lower resistance to stress and unfavourable work conditions.
Positive psychology covers the topic of 'signature advantages' – what is the most important in us, what is the most developed, what makes us human. The satisfaction from work largely depends on the usage of these advantages.
In case of the highly sensitive people these advantages are closely connected with the operation of their nervous system. Frequent utilization of characteristics connected with sensitivity, such as sensitivity to subtlety and beauty or finding purpose in the experiences - increases satisfaction from undertaken activity and translates into increased work efficiency. Accordingly, person who can utilize all of his or her assets has a greater chance to reach high level of job satisfaction.
Thanks to the researches planned in the project, we would be able to learn more about the functioning of highly sensitive people on labour marker and subsequently prepare model of support, that would allow increasing of benefits and satisfaction for both employees and employers.
